"The Life and times of Fulton Sheen"
Bishop Sheen has been called "the greatest preacher
and evangelist of the twentieth century in the United States." In 2000,
John Cardinal OConnor of New York opened the cause for the canonization
of Fulton J. Sheen. In this two-part series, the life and works of Americas
Bishop and possibly newest saint were presented. The first presentation
covered his formative years as a student of Saint Thomas Aquinas, his early
writings and calls for social justice, his breaking forth into the media limelight
and his role as spokesman for the Catholic Church during the Second World
War. The second presentation covered his crusade against Communism, the Post-War
religious revival in the U.S., Sheen's work on behalf of the propagation of
the faith abroad, the Second Vatican Council years, and Sheen's tenure as
bishop of Rochester, NY. Both presentations concluded with samples of his
weekly program.

"DEMONOLOGY: A CATHOLIC PERSPECTIVE"
Sunday, November 28, 2004
Fr. Peter Idler presented the Catholic doctrine regarding
demons or fallen angels, the malevolent, invisible spirits who creep about
the world seeking the ruin of souls. Father explained how Christ has defeated
the prince of demons, who prowls like a roaring lion looking for someone
to devour (1 Peter 5:8). Armed with the truth, it was learned what Christians
can do to share in Christs victory over darkness.
Fr. Peter completed his Theological studies at the Gregorianum
in Rome. He is the assistant pastor at Immaculate Conception Church in Bridgeton,
NJ and chaplain at Sacred Heart High School in Vineland, NJ.
